At Liebenhaus, having to say good-bye at the end of the month was hanging over everyone's heads. As a surprise the volunteers organised a party, which wasa great success.

We organised a surprise party as a good-bye. We spent theentire week preparing and making it as festive as possible. We arranged a DJ,cocktails (made from lemonade), cake, chips, balloons, kiddy champagne etc: all the ingredients for a great party. We should let you know that this was their first real party. Even the older ones hadnever been to one before. It was difficult to keep it all a secret, since we organised the party in the May Holland Hall (the building nextto Liebenhaus).
At 7 pm, the childworker told the boys to dress nicely. We were ready with about 25 people to yell SURPRISE. The boysdidn't know where to look and when they entered they each received a glass of fake champagne. The little ones especially couldn't keep their eyesoff the disco lights, which was completely new for them. It was great tosee their excited faces. We danced with them the entire night, and theywere so proud of their party! I think we heard about a million timeshow happy they were and much they are going to miss us.
