Hard working ladies!

It has been a great week for the volunteers at LH. They have finished sanding the wooden floors and have started varnishing the floors. It is going to look really nice.
The goodbye party for M, one of the boys, last week was a great success. The volunteers made him a photo album with pictures of the last 2 years and he was really happy to have this memory of his time with LH. The best present maybe was the R 40 airtime for his phone with which he was really happy as he can keep in contact with his mother through SMS. All of the boys went home this last weekend or to host families or relatives, but is was not easy to see the places where the kids come from and the resistance the children gave to be there. Always difficult, especially because you want them to stay in contact with their relatives, but you also know they are not always been taken care off properly.
For the next week the plans are to have beanbags made by the women’s cooperative to have some movable seats in the TV room and to get some new beds for the 8 new boys that are coming. LH will be full with 25 boys in the next couple of weeks!
The vegetable garden is still in progress and a new sign for on the wall is a new project for the next weeks. They like to keep busy!
We are looking forward to having a male volunteer Coen who is coming next week and would like to thank Eelke for her smiles and hard work.
