Update from Helenvale

Ready4Life B2S is still going forward with big steps. The programme is running with 13 kids again and there is a need to get more space and focus on the homework guidance in the afternoon. Up till now since last week there were no kids coming in after school, so there have to be new plans made to attract the kids to come in after school.
Franklin will be in contact with the different schools to see how this can be established as there is a big need, but most kids will prefer to wonder the streets after school.
Otherwise the programme is full of drawing, games, singing and other fun ways of getting the childrens attention and to focus on bringing back structure in their lives. It seems that most kids who do not attend school anymore do so because their parents can't afford stationary or uniforms and just stay away out of embarassment.A real problem for these kids who do want to go to school but drop out because of financial reasons. Something has to be done and can be done about this with the B2S programme.
