Hi everyone,

Last week we received this message from Bobbi Bear to say thanks for a great week in the Netherlands:

"Secondly Michel how do I ever thank you enough for the wonderful trip that you gave me. There is no words to describe what I experienced and learnt. If I had to just choose one word to describe my trip it would be "Priceless". There is no amount of money that could ever pay for my experience in the Netherlands.

I learnt so much and I also have such a broader understanding of the volunteer programme. I can never thank you, Be-More, the staff and all the ex-volunteers enough for the way that we were treated, spoilt and loved while in your country. I felt as if I was at home. Nothing was too much trouble for any of you and I know that both Jackie and I will do you all proud by putting what we have learnt into practice back home here in South Africa.

But Michel, the one very important thing that I learnt while there was to laugh again. I guess with the work that we do, seeing rape, trauma, abuse etc on a daily basis, one tends to forget how to laugh and have fun. I guess what I am trying to say is that in our work we probably sometimes feel a bit guilty when we laugh with so much heartache around us.

While in your country amongst people who took such great care of us, we learnt to relax and to laugh. We had fun, we ate, we spent time with wonderful people and we laughed like we have not laughed in a long time...Thank you for putting the smile back on my face. I have also learnt that now that I am back home, it is o.k. to laugh, so you have all taught me something.

Every person that we came into contact with while with you has taught us something that we have bought back home with us and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. You gave us a chance to be with you, to see your country and to learn. This is something that I can never ever thank you all enough for. The one thing that no-one can ever take away from you is education, and my heart and mind was educated so much during our stay.

Be-More, Uthando, Staff and volunteers thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having faith in us, for spending money on our trip and for the priceless memories of sharing your country and your people with us....we will never forget what you did.

Warm hugs,
Eureka"
