Eye operation

To all previous Liebenhaus volunteers,

I promised myself to write a litte update about the eye operation of R., which took pleace some time ago actually, but here it is, finally... with a recent picture.

It was April 4 that R. had his eye operation, a Friday. He had to be at the hospital around 7 in the morning. They didn't know how long the operation would take, but he was back before lunch.
The first few days he has been in bed most of the time, or walking around with his eyes closed, because he could not open them. It was nice to see some of the other children guide him if he needed to go to the toilets. After the weekend I saw him up, sitting at the couch. His eyes were very moisturous, but already then he said he could see better. It took him another few days, and then he did not need to wipe his eyes all the time anymore. He told that he got to see more after his operation, so he is very happy with it.
