Dear all,
As you can read on our website, we report on what's been done at each of our partner projects financially on a monthly basis.
So here it goes!
In May for Isiaiah 54 funds have been spent on:
- Aunty Zama's shower, toilet and room area
Aunty Zama's room was in a terrible state of disrepair, with bare concrete floors, bare concrete walls in the shower area and no ceilings, only asbestos roofing.
Her shower, toilet and room area have now been fully tiled, a ceiling has been put in the bathroom area. This has now given Aunty Zama a beautiful and more comfortable room to live in. Aunty Zama and her children are very excited about having "a smart" room to stay in, as it is luxury, compared to what they are used to.
- Cupboard for the dining room area
A built in cupboard has been put into the dining room area. This cupboard enabled Glynnis to put away her things, as well as having a specific cupboard for the linen instead of it being kept all over the house, as there was no room for storage. The new cupboard also helped them getting rid of the clutter of things lying around and opened up a room for every one to eat their meals together around the dining room table. The entire family is happy to now have space to keep things so that the dining room table can be used to eat together.
Glynnis adds:
"The volunteers have assisted by fetching items needed from the hardware store and tiling supplier. They also came with to choose the cupboard in the dining room and when it arrived they tried to fathom out how to put the cupboard up, eventually leaving it to the men helping them and the next door neighbour."
Any input you might have regarding these reports is more than welcome.
Kind regards,
Jetske
