Isiah arrived on my 50th Birthday, and well I am not supposed to but I did "I fell in Love".

As the months went by Keith and I lost our heart to this special little boy, who had major medical problems, A double hernia on his scrotem, A very bad chest (asthma) and bronciolitus, and eventually diagnosed with Ricketts.  Eventually we got him onto medication and with a very good Peadiactic Specialist and he seems to be on the mend.  The hernia's will be operated on when he is 18 months old and done by one of the top specialists at Westville Hospital, as a gift to Isiah.

Well Keith and I decided we wanted to adopt Isiah, but the Welfare Officers were not too happy about that as they felt that he would be better off with a smaller family, as we already have 2 fully adopted, 1 in the process of adoption and 2 foster children and Isiah would then make 6.  I dont see what the problem is but they seemed convinced that this was a problem.

The Welfare decided that they were going to move Isiah to a Childrens Home and found place for him, then told me to bring him to court as he was leaving us, I was not in a good state of mind, as you can imagine.  I then decided that if they will not listen to me then I must write a letter to the Commissioner of the Childrens Court who would be making the decision to move Isiah.

I arrived at court, in tears, and handed the letter in to the clerk and the Welfare Officer was not please with me at all.  We went into court and the Commissioner started asking the Welfare Officer why she wanted to move Isiah from our care to a Temporary facility, while waiting for the child to be adopted, the Welfare Officer could not give good reason, this was before even seeing the letter I had written.  She then read the letter and the report and told the Officer to go back and do her work properly, as she needs to prove to the Commissioner why we cannot adopt Isiah.  Wow was the Welfare officer mad with me.

Police Clearance, Letters from the Church, Medicals, Letters of Guardianship, etc, etc, etc.  We were running around like crazy getting the demands of the Welfare fulfilled.  Then back to court today, after a few sleepless nights and many hours of stress.

Well, all I heard the Commissioner say was "I AM PLACING ISIAH INTO YOUR PERMANENT CARE, LOOK AFTER HIM AND ENJOY HIM", I don't remember anything else she said, and then it was over.

So it is huge smiles for the entire Dauth Family, Isiah is ours, and the application for adoption will be done soon.  His name will then be Isiah Keith Paul Dauth, does that not sound great.  Named after his Dad and Grandpa.

From a very happy family, enjoy the pictures.
