Dear volunteers,
 
Next Friday 22 August, we will be making a nice little addition to your weblogs by adding a "passport" in the right hand column. In the attached picture you can see an example of what your weblog passport will look like.
 
To create this passport, we will use data which you enter or have already entered in your Community profile: your name, photo, date of birth and 'about me' text. Your date of birth will be used to calculate your age. If you would rather keep some of these details private, you can leave some of the form fields empty. Your weblog passport will automatically display information about your project(s) and your arrival and departure dates.
 
As we are making the updates in one week, you have some time now to update the info in your Community profile and if you haven't done so yet, add a picture. You will still be able to update and change your profile details after the 22nd but if you do it this week you'll be able to see your new weblog passport as soon as we've made the changes.

We willen vrijdag 22 augustus de weblogs wat opleuken door in de rechter kolom "paspoortjes" toe te voegen. Een voorbeeld van hoe je weblog paspoortje er uit komt te zien, zie je in de afbeelding hieronder.

Voor je weblogpaspoortje gebruiken we gegevens die je in je Community profiel invult: je naam, je geboortedatum en de tekst ‘over mij’. Je geboortedatum wordt gebruikt om je leeftijd uit te rekenen. Indien je sommige gegevens liever niet wilt tonen, kun je de betreffende velden leeg laten. Hetzelfde geldt voor je foto: heb je een foto geupload, dan wordt deze zichtbaar in je Community profiel, maar ook op je weblog. Je paspoortje toont automatisch ook je project(en), start- en vertrekdata wanneer je één of meerdere eigen gegevens in hebt gevuld.

We voeren de update volgende week door, dus je hebt even de tijd om je Community profiel aan te vullen en – als je dat nog niet gedaan hebt – een foto toe te voegen. Ook na 22 augustus kun je natuurlijk je gegevens nog invullen, maar het leukst is het natuurlijk om nu meteen te zorgen dat alles ingevuld is, zodat je weblog paspoortje volgende week vrijdag automatisch en volledig wordt getoond!
