It's been an amazing few weeks at Thamsanqa! First of all we had to say goodbye to Patricia, Richard, Dominique and Michael who did such an amazing job there! The kids rooms were painted and look amazing! Dominique and Michael built a wall in line with the township style!!
Martijn and Marloes have been at the project for two weeks and their skills are exactly what the project needs! We eagerly await the arrival of Eric, so he can help with setting up the gardens and help Martijn show off his soccer skills!!

Dear Ellen,

In search for inspiration what to do in a few month time when my employer will lay me off I ran into the be more website.
You are the first one writing about gardens and being a horticulturist I was facinated to hear what Thamsanga is doing to create their own food. Are they having a vegetable garden? is there land, seeds, tools etc available. Maybe you can write me back and to see what should and can be done there.

Thanks, John

Hi John,
Great to hear such enthousiasm for Thamsanqa's food garden. It really consists of a small garden patch per family home. One gardeb is really flourishing, but the other two are struggling a bit. Not everyone seems to have green fingers!! So there are nog big pieces of land or tools or machinery.

Good luck with your future plans! And don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

Regards,
Ellen
