enUpdate!

screen picture

I've received quite a few emails and would just like to inform you of the most recent information. The staff of Liebenhaus are devoting all their time to helping the boys adjust to their new surroundings. The boys will all return to school on Monday, but will remain in their new home for the moment. A final decision will be made, as to whether the boys will remain permanently in their new quarters. A meeting was held with the community, the local councillors and the police, and it seems as though the situation has settled in the community. The staff and children are touched by the well wishes from all of you all over the world. Thank you!

I really hope that the boys and the staff are safe now. I think still every day of the boys and the staff. I am glad that we will keep informed by the community site. Thanks for that.

I have been in close contact with the staff and boys of Liebenhaus and would just like to inform all former volunteers and sponsors what their present situation is. A decision has been made PE Childline to continue to accommodate the boys in a seperate building at their head office. Minor adjustments have been made to transform the office to a suitable living space for the boys. Showers and additional toilets have been installed. Unfortunately there is no space for the boys to play, but a school across the road has given them permission to use their sports field after school. The boys have all been enrolled at various schools in the direct vicinity of their new home. The boys are quite content in their new surroundings. They all are very happy to be safe and away from the gang violence. At present they have all been placed with holiday families or extended families for the Christmas holidays.  I have conveyed Be More's wish and willingness to extend any assistance needed to the boys of Liebenhaus. In the New Year I will meet the Programme Manager to discuss how we can extend our support. Thank you to all of you that have expressed your concern and interest to the children of Liebenhaus.
