As of 11 October Be More will unfortunately have to stop offering the volunteer program at Liebenhaus at the request of PE Childline, parent organization of Liebenhaus. PE Childline has come to the decision that Liebenhaus is no longer able to take on the responsibilities that come with hosting a volunteer programme.

In honour of Nelson Mandela, the event takes place June 27th and tickets go on sale Friday May 9th. Other acts set to perform include Queen, Leona Lewis and Annie Lennox.

We are pleased to announce our newest partnership with I Care, an organization that supports boys who have until recently been living on the streets of Durban.

Due to overwhelming interest in our partner projects this year, we have adjusted our availability and project list to ensure dedicated spaces for UK volunteers.

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Ithemba. Ithemba is a day care centre for children with severe learning disabilities in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

On February 19th, Be More will be taking part in the University of London 'Getting into International Development' course which is organized by The Careers Group - University of London.

Be More is excited about our new partnership with the unique South African organization Umthombo. Run predominantly by former street children and based in Durban, Umthombo aims to change the way society perceives and treats street children.

The Blue Roof has been successfully working with Be More volunteers for over half a year now. Recently, however we have been receiving reports back from Blue Roof volunteers saying that they felt that the centre was so well organized and run through its staff that it didn't really need their help anymore.

On Saturday 24 November, Be More will host it's first info afternoon in the UK! It will be held at Rich Mix in London, from 1 - 4 pm. Please send an e-mail with your name and the number of people you'd like to come with to info@be-more.org.

Be More has teamed up with Just Giving so that you can now donate online or create your own fundraising page. Your friends and family will be able to make online donations with their debit or credit card directly to Be More.

Today, we proudly present the Be More Community. Through this interactive community, (former) volunteers, our projects and Be More can get in touch with each other, for example to meet, to ask questions, get to know something about a project, or discuss an interesting topic.

Today, 24 May 2007, is Be More's first birthday!

Be More proudly presents its year report 2006 today. Or actually, a half year report, since we've only existed since May last year. It shows that we've had an exciting, moving and successful first half year, a good base to grow further in 2007 and to reach our ambitious objectives.

For awhile now, you have been able to find information on our webste information about Ready for Life, a project that teaches life skills to students from disadvantaged areas around Port Elizabeth. These past few months, work has been underway to set up the project and the volunteer program, and in May we will officially be ready to start the volunteer pilot program at Ready for Life!

'Involved people make a difference', can be read several times on this website. And who would be more involved than volunteers that have just returned from one of the Be More projects? The choice to involve these ex-volunteers in the preparation of new volunteers was an easy one. Be More proudly presents the Be Buddy.

After all the necessary preparations, Be More is proud to present a new volunteer project: Liebenhaus. This centre, that takes care of about 25 boys with a problematic background, is the first project in the Port Elizabeth area.

We Are Together (Thina Simunye) has won two awards during the Amnesty International Filmfestival. On the last day the movie about the children of Agape was awarded the MovieSquad AllRights Award and VARA audience award.

Be More is proud to present four new projects, starting March 1 and April 1: the Dream Centre, Mother of Peace, the Blue Roof and Liebenhaus.
